Welcome to the Official Website of the Southern Region Women's Football League.
The Southern Region Women’s Football League, “the League”, is in the FA Women’s Pyramid of Football as one of the 8 (eight) Regional Leagues in the Country residing below the 4 (four) Combination Leagues and above the County Leagues.
The League is sanctioned by The Football Association and a Member of the Women’s Football Conference. The area designated for the League is the combined region of the area covered by the Berks & Bucks County FA, Hampshire County FA and the Oxfordshire County FA.
The League has promotion and relegation links with South West Combination Women’s Football League above as well as Hampshire County Women's Football League and Thames Valley Counties Women's Football League (for Berks & Bucks and Oxfordshire areas) below. However, until the League attains it maximum Membership of 36 Teams (with 12 each in one Premier Division and two Division Ones which are to be divided geographically either as North and South or East and West), the lowest placed Teams will not be relegated from the League. The Reserve, or lower, Teams of any Club will not be permitted above Division Ones of the Regional Leagues in the Women's Pyramid of Football.
At the end of each Season, the Champions of the League will be nominated for promotion into the South West Combination Women’s Football League and the League will receive the relegated Club(s) (one or two as the Joint Liaison Committee decides as appropriate due to the geographical positions of these relegated Clubs) from the South West Combination Women’s Football League. The adjustments to the constitution of the League may be required from time to time, which will be made by the Joint Liaison Committee, to accommodate the possible geographical locations of these relegated Clubs. Therefore, Member Clubs near the boundaries of the League may be required to move to another Regional League at the end of the season. The Champions of the Hampshire County Women's Football League and the Thames Valley Counties Women's Football Leagues are nominated to be promoted into the League. All such nominations for promotions are subject to the Club being able to meet the necessary Ground Grading requirements.
In addition to the Divisional Championship fixtures, and subject to there being no fixtures back-log, the League offers two Knock-Out Cup Competitions – namely the League Cup and the Chairman’s Cup. The League Cup is open to all Member Clubs and the Member Clubs knocked out from the Preliminary Round and the First Round of the League Cup Competitions will be entered into the Chairman’s Cup Competition.
